Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area (a hot real estate investment destination) is a local government in Lagos State, Nigeria. The local government is bounded by Eti-Osa East LCDA on the west, Epe on the East and the Atlantic Ocean on the North. Ibeju- Lekki is about 75km long and 20 km at its widest point and is spread over 646km2 or a quarter of the total landmass of Lagos state.
The administrative centre was formerly at Akodo when it was created in 1990 by Gen Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and was later moved to Igando Oloja in October 2003 due to the creation of Lekki Council Development Area. It was the then Executive Governor of Lagos State, H. E Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who carved LEKKI LCDA out of IBEJU LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The name of the Local government was derived from two autonomous communities, Ibeju-Agbe and Lekki.
Towns in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area
Some of the major towns in Ibeju-Lekki includes Ibeju-Agbe, Magbon-Alade, Iberikodo, Igando-Oloja, Aiyeteju, Awoyaya, Bogoje, Akodo, Elerangbe, Eleko, Elemoro, Idi-Orogbo, Lakowe, Orimedu, Abijo, Mopo-Ijebu Eputu and Badore.

Free Trade Zone Axis
This axis is expected to be the axis with the most commercial activities. It starts from Elecko Junction to The Lekki Free Trade Zone , through Dangote Refinery, La Campagne Tropicana Resort and beyond. The reason this axis will be beehives of commercial activities is strongly connected to the following projects that are under development in the area:
- The Lekki Free Trade Zone
- Dangote Refinery
- Lekki Deep seaport
- Dangote Fertilizer Plant and petrochemical industry
- Power Oil etc
The Lekki Free Trade Zone is designed to be a satellite city to Lagos because of the dynamic commerce, trade and modern industrial sectors. As you can imagine land in this axis are very expensive. The cheapest that you can get is N700k.
The Elerangbe axis is composed of towns like Elerangbe, Okego, Tagbati all the way to Arapagi. Elerangbe is after Eleko Junction and Pan Atlantic University, off Lekki-Epe expressway, to the Left. The Lekki international Airport is Located within this axis.
In this area, you could buy land for as low as N675,000 and is about the cheapest price in the whole of Ibeju Lekki. This axis is suitable for residential apartments
Lekki-Epe Expressway Axis – Most Developed
This axis starts from Abijo up to Eleko junction. Places like Lakowe, Awoyaya, Bogoje, and Shapati are along the Lekki-Epe expressway. There is a lot of development (both commercial and residential ) in this area already. Business ventures like Eleganza industries, ShopRite, and Coscaris Motors Head office are located along this axis. This axis has a mixture of residential and commercial activities.
The Lekki-Epe axis, of the three axes, is where you can buy, build, and live in at present; and also in this area, you have the most expensive properties- land and houses.
